Ayurveda Health

In this section we will discuss Ayurveda and health.
The word Ayurveda roughly translates to "Knowledge of Life" and is derived by conjoining the words 'Ayus', meaning ‘Life’ and 'Veda', meaning ‘Knowledge’. It is one of the oldest systems of organized medicine in the world. It derived a lot of its core principles from an ancient book of Indian wisdom called Atharvaveda which was written around 2000BC. The origin of Ayurveda itself can be traced back by another 1000 years (making it a roughly 5000 year old system). Sushruta (considered the 'father of surgery') and Charaka are one of the oldest recorded pioneers of Ayurveda who wrote the treatise which form the basis for the Ayurveda we know today.
Look for our list of Retailers (tab above).
However Ayurveda flourished during 800 B.C. to A.D. 1000, a time referred to as the “Golden Age”. It was during this time the practical applications of Ayurveda were established. And thus the golden girl found in our logo was created to represent this time of rebirth. She illustrates the understanding of the divine science of Ayurvedic health. The “Golden Girl” is a sign of Ayurveda’s most abundant herb turmeric (our flagship product). *Curcuma Longa (botanical name for Turmeric) has been widely recognized for immune support. *It is also known to have good anti–inflamatory properties.
I hope the above information on Ayurveda health helps everyone to understand how to live a happy and holistic life.
